Deer ticks transmit Lyme disease to humans and pets. Lyme Disease is the most commonly reported tick-borne disease in the United states. It was named in 1977 when a cluster of children in and around Lyme, CT developed severe arthritis symptoms. Deer ticks are much smaller than dog ticks, often no bigger than the head of a pin, and are much more difficult to detect. In 2002, CT had the highest reported rate of Lyme Disease in the country. Children aged five to nine have the highest rates of Lyme Disease, but it can strike anyone of any age. Grassy Meadows has a timed schedule of spray applications for lawns, shrubs, and the perimeter of your property. These applications will greatly reduce the population of Deer Ticks, which can be carriers of Lyme Disease, and Mosquitoes, which can be carriers of West Nile Virus.
Grassy Meadows of Wilton Tick Control also provides Wilton Lawn Care and Wilton Shrub Care. Please visit our pages about these services.
